Markxv is a personal site where I document and share my interests: RVing, electronics, and woodworking. Creating and maintaining a website requires a fair amount of work. Software to organize, source, and upload the various pages - and parts thereof - is easily enough found, but there is always a fair amount of twiddling to be done and here is no exception. In addition, becoming comfortable with assembling and organizing the numerous parts across virtual space and various platforms has been quite a challenge for a guy around since the Eisenhower administration.

The "Wheels" tab hosts an shambolic album of our adventures around and about the Pacific Northwest. It serves as a repository of images, notes, and plans I'm both too fond of to toss and too lazy to organize. I keep hoping to find some software that can trace the creation date and location of the photos while presenting me with an opportunity to move and annotate them into some trip-centric order. I also hope for world peace and a cure for the common cold. I doubt I'll see any of these during my remaining years.

"Wires" is a diary and notebook of my efforts to teach myself to program micro-controllers. I have a knack for selecting minimally supported software, so the going has been slow. Still, I have (or will) documented some basic building blocks of code that can be combined to accomplish pretty mediocre results. If you don't find much here, check back - I suffered a catastrophic computer failure while searching for software that would allow me to save images of circuit diagrams. Before fully recovering from that, we ended up moving and, well. notes and equipment remain in boxes waiting for the construction of a shop. I'll get to it - someday.

"Wood" is both an interest and an homage to my heritage; my grandfather was a furniture maker, my father the same. As a young man I was fortunate to have a large shop and so began to develop skills before fate whisked me across the continent and through the years. I've not since had both the resources and the space to indulge in the satisfaction of making. As I mentioned previously, we've moved to a place allowing for the construction of a shop - where I will once again take up the skills hidden in my DNA.
