How much wood would a woodworker work...?

My venture into woodworking promises to be an experience more impactful than I first realized. Looking out my back door at the "quarter acre wood", it is easy to underestimate the significance of the orange ribbon tied at the ankle of a modest young fir. Here is marked the corner of the clearing necessary to make room for a garage. Sixty feet left (north) and 60 feet back (east) from this spot will be cleared to make room for a shop; ironically, used primarily for woodworking. Also, for RV trailer storage and county required building clearances. It is bitter-sweet; these trees are magnificent - near 150 foot poles erupting toward the sky like one-legged disciples of the sun. I am saddened by the the need to remove them. I have calculated and figured and walked among them counting each measurement to minimize the loss.
